About

Hello! My name is Emorie. I am a young-20s-but-sometimes-feels-like-a-little-old-lady living in beautiful Idaho with a little too much free time and far too many ideas. I am another one of those grown-up kids that still hasn’t figured out what I want to do with my life and I don’t know if I ever will. I created Oh Whimsical Me to document snippets of my everyday that I want to treasure forever. It is also a place for me to organize inspiration, share scattered bits of my mind, and encourage myself to learn, improve, and create.

I enjoy posting crafts, recipes, personal style/fashion, pictures of my dog, things I am obsessed with, adventures, and word vomit. I like feminism, sci-fi, making bouquets of wildflowers, reading, tech, folk music, the internet, never finishing craft projects, netflix, exploring the woods with my pup and love, and dancing even if I am terrible at it. I believe in creating your own meaning and that life should be lived simply and fully.

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you stay awhile and we become old friends.

FAQs:

  1. How old are you? I am 23.
  2. How tall are you? 5 feet 6ish inches
  3. Where do you live? I currently call Boise, Idaho home.
  4. How do you pronounce your name? I’ve gotten this my whole life, so don’t feel bad, but there is no trickery. It is pronounced like it reads “EM-OR-EE” with emphasis on the first syllable — or like memory, without the first m.
  5. What do you do? I am assuming you mean where do I work? If so, I currently work at Anthropology. Other than that, I like to spend time designing for other bloggers! I also devout a lot of time to this blog and I have high hopes to see it grow. Expect some changes toward the end of 2014.
  6. Did you go to college? I went to the University of Idaho, but I did not graduate. I talked a little about that experience in this post.
  7. I might discuss it here more in the future.
  8. Who takes your pictures? If I am not in them, I am the one behind the camera. If I did not take a photo (like in an inspiration/wish list post) I always link to the source. Look for the source directly below the image. If I have used an image that you would like me to remove, please contact me. Pictures of me are either taken with a self-timer, or by my partner Will or my sister Brianna
  9. What kind of camera do you use?  As of May 2013, most images posted here are taken with my Canon Rebel T3i. Sometimes I post pictures taken on my iPhone. Really old posts feature pictures taken on an Olympus point-and-shoot digital camera.
  10. Are your glasses real? This question made me laugh, but I’ve been asked it more than once so here you go. Yes, they are real, although they (the red ones) are only reading glasses. I wear them when reading (obviously) or doing work on the computer but sometimes I wear them just to give my eye a bit of a break. I am blind in my left eye, not completely (yet), but it is beyond correction/help. I was born with the blindness so I am used to it (though it has gotten worse with age).
  11. How long have you and Will been together? We’ve been together since May 2011.
  12. How did you and Will meet? Without taking up too much of your time, we met in Moscow, ID (when we were both students at U of I) sort of through my sister, actually.
  13. What kind of dog is Pippin? He is a chorkie: half chihuahua and half yorkshire terrier.

Have a question for me? Just ask.
