Introducing: Warby Parker Winter Collection

I have something exciting to share with you guys today! I'm teaming up with Warby Parker to introduce their brand new (just launched!) Winter Collection and give you a first look! I am super excited to be a part of this collection's launch; I'm a huge fan of fashionable eyewear. As someone who wears a prescription regularly, I enjoy eyeglasses that really make a statement in my wardrobe (in addition to helping me see of course). Their frames are so classic and chic and surely designed for style as well as function.

If you've never heard about Warby Parker, here's a quick overview—because they are a great company (with a great business model). The company was started by four friends as an alternative to the overpriced and bland eyewear available in the mainstream. They take pride in the fact that Warby Parker was founded with a rebellious spirit and a lofty objective: to create boutique-quality, classically crafted eyewear at a revolutionary price point. By circumventing traditional channels (eliminating the middle men) and engaging with customers directly through their website, Warby Parker is able to provide higher-quality prescription eyewear at a fraction of the price.

Not only do they sell designer eyewear at an affordable price, but they've partnered with non-profits like VisionSpring to ensure that for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to someone in need. Warby Parker recognizes that almost one billion people worldwide lack access to glasses (this means that 15% of the global population cannot effectively learn or work) - a problem that Warby Parker is determined to address. They believe everyone has a right to see and have recently (this summer) hit a milestone of 500,000 glasses distributed. It's always great to be able to purchase from a company and have confidence that they are using their profits for good.

Still nervous about buying glasses online? Finding a pair to commit to isn't always easy, but Warby Parker understands this and makes it easy. If you aren't near one of their showrooms, the Home Try-On Program is neat and FREE. Browse and pick out 5 frames you’d like to try on. They’ll ship them to you for free. You then have 5 days to try them on, see how they feel, ask your friends what they think, and hopefully make a decision. Then just pack up the 5 Home Try-On frames, and ship them back (return shipping is free, too), and purchase your choice online.

Now that you now all about this great company, without further ado, a look at the brand new Winter 2013 Collection.

Here's what they have to say about the Collection:

"Winter’s best diversions—doubling up on thermals, watching your breath steam up the window, scribbling through a Sunday crossword puzzle—deserve a proper pair of glasses to bring them into focus.

Our new Winter Collection is rustic meets modern: six new shapes in five new colors, including two custom two-toned acetates, in addition to some of our most dependably stylish frames in cold-weather hues.  All frames are $95, including prescription lenses.

They make good companions for rooting around a bookcase, dashing through the snow, getting up to indoor mischief. The possibilities stretch on as shorter days give way to longer nights."

Find the collection online at warbyparker.com and at Warby Parker stores and showrooms.

I thought it'd be fun to put together an outfit I would wear with a pair. I am loving their take on winter. The new color options are to die for (especially the Saddle Sage and the Saddle Russet!) and surely something I would wear all year, not just around the holiday season. I'm dreaming of long nights by the fire, powering through my 'to-read' list with the Lyle or Durand's round lenses. And with Christmas coming up, I'll certainly be adding a pair to my wishlist. And I'm feeling very ready for Winter. Bring any snow, cold weather, or holiday cheer that my favorite season has to offer!

Which is your favorite pair?
Are you feeling the winter holiday spirit yet? Too early still?

xx Emorie

  3. Is it weird that I thought of you when I saw the Seymours? I suppose because they have a similar style/shape to the glasses you wear. They would suit you well :)

  4. Needing a prescription has its advantages I suppose :) I love cute glasses. They do sell tons of sunglasses too (prescription or nonprescription), so you're not totally out of luck!

  5. Could be! I have a pair that's more along the lines of the Watts, but I don't seem to pull it out much. What strikes me about the Seymour frames most is how much I love the Tennessee Whiskey color - I never thought I'd actually LOVE a tortoise style pattern but here I am, loving this one.
